North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (formerly known as 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust until 1st April 2017), provides physical health, mental health and learning disability services across the North West region. The Trust employs around 4000 staff across our sites and also has a Temporary Bank which offers the flexibility of working shifts around other commitments.

We are committed to providing safe, compassionate care and look to appoint people who are as passionate about patient care as we are.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Mental Health Nurse to join the Recovery Team which covers the Wigan and Leigh borough.

Due to retirement and career progression of two of our care coordinators we have 2 positions available.

Nurses are valued members of the multi-disciplinary team which also includes Medics, Psychologists and Occupational Therapists. The Nurses offer CPA reviews and assessments, care planning, risk assessment, individual and group interventions and provide the role of Care Coordinator.

We are an established integrated team specialising in supporting service users with severe and enduring mental illness through a recovery based model

In order to qualify as a suitable candidate you should be able to demonstrate good skills in working with clients using the recovery model. You should be a caring and committed person who is able to work independently and with initiative. We would expect that you are able to establish effective working relationships with other professionals. You should be familiar with current legislation, guidelines and processes that affect the way in which mental health care is delivered.

You will hold a professional qualification of a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) and have preferred experience of working in the community mental health settings.

The posts offer the opportunity to further develop clinical and managerial skills and you will also contribute to the education of nursing and other students. You will be supported with regular supervision and opportunities for in house training and also via the North West Boroughs Education department

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure and £29.50 for a standard disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
