As part of the transformation in how we deliver fully integrated care, mental health services and pathways are being redesigned to offer increased accessibility and choice for our service users.

One of our key venues within Knowsley Borough is the Young People and Families Well Being Hub based at Knowsley Resource and Recovery on the grounds of Whiston Hospital.

Eating Disorders Services will be based at this site alongside Knowsley CAMHS and  Psychological Therapies Services.

The successful candidate will have management responsibility for all elements of eating disorders services including Adult Eating Disorders, operative across St Helens and Knowsley and Children’s Eating Disorders servicing the Mid Mersey footprint.

The successful Candidate will work with Senior Leadership and Lead Clinicians to ensure that we offer a service that intervenes early and meets all data requirements in line with the Mid Mersey Contract.

The post holder will carry managerial responsibility for the Eating Disorders Services and will manage all Mental Health staff, Psychologists, Allied Health Professionals and Support workers within a fully integrated, multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will work closely with the Lead Consultant who has clinical responsibility for the Services.

The post holder will establish a productive and positive working relationship with colleagues from the Acute Trust in relation to in- patient admissions, Residential Treatment Providers, CAMHS colleagues within NWBH and our Partners BEAT who deliver schools based education and training.

The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Psychology Lead who will be responsible for the clinical supervision of psychology staff and in setting the appropriate therapeutic approach of the service.

The successful candidate will embed a structured approach to safely identify and manage risk, promote learning and development opportunities and to promote physical health within mental health services.

The role will include some occasional work in the evenings and at weekends to ensure the service is accessible to service users outside of core hours and making strong links with a range of partners within the Borough of Knowsley and within the Mid Mersey Footprint.

The successful candidate will form part of the Community Mental Health Directorate’s Management Team and will be responsible for ensuring parity and consistency across the range of services within the Directorate and representing both Eating Disorders Services and the Directorate at relevant internal and external meetings.

Whilst knowledge about Eating Disorders would be welcome, we are looking for a strong leader and manager to drive the services forward. You may be a clinician, an allied health professional or a manager with transferrable skills from a health and social care background.

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
