North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (formerly known as 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust until 1st April 2017), provides physical health, mental health and learning disability services across the North West region. The Trust employs around 4000 staff across our sites and also has a Temporary Bank which offers the flexibility of working shifts around other commitments.

We are committed to providing safe, compassionate care and look to appoint people who are as passionate about patient care as we are.

We are looking for two committed individuals, who have an excellent level of clinical experience, to join our friendly, supportive and dynamic Speech and language Therapy Team. The team provides a service to children with speech, language, communication and feeding / swallowing difficulties in the geographical area of Knowsley. We work within community clinics, children’s centres, mainstream schools, special schools and patients homes.

We are looking to recruit experienced band 5s with working knowledge of PECS, Makaton and a variety of AAC. Specific experience in supporting early years’ settings will also be of benefit. We would also welcome applications from less experienced therapists who can demonstrate they are dynamic, enthusiastic and can work independently.

The wider Integrated Therapy Team comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants providing a comprehensive service to children aged 0 to 19 years.

The team works closely with partner agencies across the borough, therefore, it is essential to demonstrate skills in team working at a multi-professional level. This provides integrated and  comprehensive clinical programmes for children in order to meet the commissioned requirements.

The band 5 would be required to supervise and support less experienced staff, patients and service users within the service. The band 5 would also be actively involved in any service, working group or project to develop the team. You will also be required to carry a paediatric clinical caseload with support available from band 5 peer groups, supervision and line management.

In return for your hard work and dedication we can offer a very pleasant working environment and a well-structured support system across the department, including an intensive and comprehensive induction programme, robust individual and group supervision, personal development plans and regular access to professional training which thereby ensures excellent opportunities for professional development.
