An exciting job opportunity has arisen within North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for a Band 6 Adult Speech and Language Therapist, who is keen to work as part of an exciting, dynamic and forward thinking team.

The post offers a diverse set of opportunities to work within both a community and mental health in-patient setting.

The scope and variety of work within the role allows for the development of a wide range of clinical skills and the opportunity to be involved in research with the diverse mental health inpatient population (including a large Dementia population). The post will be split between the community service providing to patients with a range of needs which include neurodegenerative conditions, voice disorders, stammering and dementia and the Physical Health In-Reach service which provides assessments and interventions on the mental health inpatient units across the Trust.

The role involves working closely with a range of multidisciplinary teams both internal and external to the Trust. The post holder will be well supported by senior speech and language therapists, including access to service meetings, journal clubs, clinical supervision and in-service training. The service has close links with wider SLT colleagues within the organisation. The successful applicant will be a confident practitioner who has the flexibility to meet the demands of a busy service and has completed or almost completed their dysphagia competencies. Applicants will need to demonstrate and ability and willingness to travel across bases and visit patients in their own homes.

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
